In 2019, my goal was to make sure when 2020 rolled around, I had a home studio. After moving 7 times in the past 5 years, home became my safe place. I expressed to my husband that when we were ready to purchase our next house I wanted a space to welcome my clients and work from home! We thought this space would be in Columbia, SC. I had no clue what I had been hoping for would move us again. This time God moved us back home, to Jackson, TN, the place where my love for photographing people began.
I’ll save that story for another day. Cool? Cool!
We’ve worked hard the past 9 weeks to get settled in. I still have an ultra long “honey do” list which is perfectly fine considering the fact that we are checking things off the list pretty fast! I can’t thank my husband enough for being my biggest supporter in my business. With each move he makes sure I have everything I need to make the transition smooth. I’m thankful that he agreed to allow me to use our space for doing what I love the most, documenting life and storytelling through photo.
So, welcome to my home studio!
Portrait, boudoir, ordering sessions and small events will take place here!
On a portrait day, my son Jax may greet you at the door! Boudoir days are schedule when my family is gone, so the house is private and it’s just me and you!
We have two rooms for shooting. I guess at some point, I should give those rooms names. Room #1 is the boudoir/portrait room. The room is functional for boudoir and in studio portraits, headshots, newborns, etc. Room #2 is the dining room! At home it will function as our eating area. The light in this space is so yummy shooting in here is a must! My husband is building me a custom concrete dining table. So I asked him to make to put wheels on the table so it can be moved and voila, the space is functional for portraits too. He agreed. :)
I’ve made some changes to my workflow, so now you have the ability to view and order your images the same day we take them! We will have our reveal sessions in the living room! Get comfortable, take your shoes off and let’s create new memories.
I can say over the course of 10 years, I can comfortable call any of my clients “friend”. I don’t take that lightly. I want you to trust me with documenting your life. I’m trusting you, by welcoming you into mine. Photography is more than just taking a photo for me. I want to make sure that I help you preserve moments that we may not ever experience again!
